As the Commercial Rights and Event Management Team for the Cricket for Heroes event happening on 17th September, 2015 at the Kia Oval, Logan Sports Marketing executed a media launch event, in the build-up to the inaugural cricket match.
Guests and media were introduced to the event by Simon Halliday, former England International rugby player and the driving force behind the event, Mark Elliott, Head of External Operations at Help for Heroes and newly appointed Director of England Cricket, Andrew Strauss – who will be captaining the Help for Heroes XI on the day.
The challenge for the media launch was to ignite the passion around the forthcoming event and create enthusiasm around players already announced and anticipation around those who are yet to be revealed. Logan Sports Marketing achieved this by creating an exciting, informative and visual press conference for media and guests. All the while, LSM continued to build on the importance of the on-going support of Help for Heroes, the Cricket for Heroes event, and the position of their sponsors.
Following the formal introductions, media were facilitated with breakout sessions allowing Q&A time with the key stakeholders. LSM managed broadcast media by arranging time pitch side for interviews to take place. An event photo opportunity was then created on the pitch allowing photographers to capture the day in front of the iconic Oval backdrop.
Coverage post-event was very successful, with the story picked up and shown on Sky Sports News and reported in many leading National newspapers.
